My Space

I have known about MySpace for a long time, but I have never wanted an account. Why? I am not into online social networking--you can say and be whatever you want. Unless you know the person or organization personally, you have no idea who you're actually talking and/or giving information to. I prefer a more personal kind of contact- but that's just me. Many people absolutely love MySpace.
MySpace is part of how today's teens and others communicate and socialize. Based on this, it sure doesn't hurt to know what my space is, and a little about how it works.

RSS--Really Scary Stuff

I have now learned about the world of RSS feeds. Problem is, besides the KCLS homepage and Amazon.com, I really don't regularly visit any web pages. Most of the time I really don't care if they've added new information. I truly spend most of my time reading books or with friends (and not online) when I'm not at work. I don't even regularly read a specific magazine. For me, at this point in my life, it's just one more thing to have to do, so it doesn't save me time, it adds to it. I think for most people though, they would be of benefit. So many people spend hours and hours on their computer that it probably would save them some time. But what will they do with the extra time saved--probably spend that time online as well. This is just my opinion and will most likely not represent the majority of everyone else.

Isn't he cute?

I found this photo of a giant stuffed squid on Flickr that was posted by roidrage. He named his squid Archibald Dux (the official name for giant squid is Architeuthis Dux). Flickr turned out to be alot of fun. I doubt I would post my own photos--I don't take too many pictures, but I would definitely recommend it to others that do!

How did I get here?

Wow! First off I didn't even know what a blog was. Generally I don't spend a lot of time on the computer, unless it has to do with work or I need information about something. I will admit that when I found out we would be learning these "27 things" I was a little nervous, and still am, but I'm going to give 'em a try. I just hope my tiny little brain can take it all in! :)
