Custom Search Engines
I searched all the suggestions for both Rollyo and Google. Rollyo was annoying and I didn't like all the ad stuff. Google was much more straightforward and user-friendly. Guess what? I signed up with Google. I absolutely love my gmail account because it makes it so simple to add services, like a custom search engine, blog, etc.

Wikis
After I read and learned about what they are and did a little of looking around I sat back and thought about them for awhile. I'm familiar with Wikipedia, but was not with much else. I liked the fact that people don't have to know the specifics of creating a web page etc to work with them. I also liked the library section that has wikis for librarians about things they've tried at their libraries that work. I was a little worried about people taking credit for other people's work until I read the license agreement part. Then I felt much better. I think they can have great applications, some that are serious, and some are just for fun.
Technorati & LIBRARY THING!!!!!!!
Ok, technorati was alright and I set up an account and claimed my blog and looked around. But all that info was long forgotten when I got to Libray thing. I Just Love It. I spent alot of time adding many of my favorite books. Its just like a book diary, except it's online and you get pictures of your titles!!! Way too much fun. Will definitely be using Library Thing often and will be recommending it to friends and patrons alike.

Del.icio.us
Using Del.ici.us was confusing for me at first. However, I can really see the value in having your bookmarks available from anywhere. I can't tell you how many times I've been on someone else's computer away from home and I've wished I had access to my bookmarks!

My Space
I have known about MySpace for a long time, but I have never wanted an account. Why? I am not into online social networking--you can say and be whatever you want. Unless you know the person or organization personally, you have no idea who you're actually talking and/or giving information to. I prefer a more personal kind of contact- but that's just me. Many people absolutely love MySpace.
MySpace is part of how today's teens and others communicate and socialize. Based on this, it sure doesn't hurt to know what my space is, and a little about how it works.
